Wyclef Jeans Gives Killer Performance at Brooklyn Bowl

The Carnival Man is back! That’s probably the only way I can wholeheartedly describe the Wyclef Jean show at the Brooklyn Bowl and I am sure the 3,000 plus people who were in attendance would agree.

This show reminded me of why I fell in love with music. Not just for the songs the artists sing, but the love of music, the love they put into each word, the love of captivating an audience and Wyclef definitely acquire those characteristics at this show.

Not only did he open the show with a freestlye, but he did so in French, Spanish and English! Which was absolutely perfect for the diverse crowd that showed up to see the Haitian sensation. Wyclef brought us back to 1996 by giving us real music.

I truly wish I could write using exclamations after each sentence just to show the excitement that I am still feeling after being blessed to see Wyclef come back to Brooklyn like he never left in the first place. The show itself was simply amazing. So much energy in one room that he didn’t even leave the stage for wardrobe changes.

He brought up Love & Hip Hop star DJ Self and Smack White, who happens to be one of my favorite people in the world because he continues to support true hip hop through his battle rap movement. Wyclef continues referencing the likes of DNA and allowing the legendary Loaded Luxe to grace the stage. After all of that, he manages to sneak in his new single My Girl and allows the fans to be apart of his new video!

I truly felt like a kid in a candy store when Wyclef sang songs like No Woman No Cry, Ready or Not and Gone Till November.

Hospitality in this business still exists. Not only did we get a true experience that will last a lifetime at Contrast, but Wyclef and his team made sure Contrast was taking care of with food and drinks.

You can find Wyclef’s latest 4.5 Star rated single My Girl on iTunes here.
