TIDAL Creates New Stage for RISING Artists at New York Fashion Week
Music and fashion have always intertwined, and TIDAL is always searching for innovative ways to merge these two worlds. Each year, designers from all over showcase their latest work during the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week. This year, Contrast had the pleasure of attending the runway show for womenswear designer Kim Shui, and the soundtrack for the evening was powered by TIDAL.
TIDAL is constantly creating new opportunities for music lovers and artists alike; this fan-curated soundtrack brings a more collaborative, hands-on approach to this creative initiative. Among those in attendance this year were Fivio Foreign, James Charles, Saucy Santana, Tessa Brooks and more.
In order to create this soundtrack, TIDAL crowdsourced voicemails from music and fashion lovers, asking fans to share an anecdote of something that used to embarrass them that they now love, for incorporation in the official show soundtrack.
The future of music and fashion is now.

TIDAL’s RISING Producer Stelios debuted the track “Gymnopédie Revue” on the runway during Kim Shui’s NYFW show and “weaves soundbites from crowdsourced fan voicemails with vocals from Dizzy Fae and strings by composer and musician Pip.”
The main takeaway from what TIDAL is doing here with their RISING program is how they are actively working to empower up-and-coming artists. You can also download TIDAL here and see what is in store for yourself.
