The 2016 Met Gala: 19 Best Looks at Fashion’s Biggest Night Out

Every year, there’s that one gala that sends celebrities on a while goose hunt to find the best-of-the-best looks: The Met Gala. Taken place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the star-studded event is themed to an exhibit at the museum. You might remember last year’s theme, “China: Through the Looking Glass,” centered around China’s aesthetic influence on Western fashion. This year’s costume attire is based on the exhibit “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology.”

According to Vogue, the theme is meant to embrace the increasingly blurred lines between handmade haute couture and machine-made fashion.
