‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Cast Ewan McGregor, Moses Ingram Share How Jedi School Allowed Them To Bond During Training for Disney+ Series

Disney+ has just released their latest installment of the Star Wars franchise with Obi-Wan Kenobi which begins 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sithwhere Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

In a recent press conference with series cast Ewan McGregor, Moses Ingram and including the series’ Director, Deborah Chow, select media, including Contrast, were able to have a first look into the series with stories from behind the screen.

The moderator for the press junket asked Moses Ingram to share a little background on what it was like training for the stunts.

“It was cool.  We trained for about four months before we ever even got to set.  The everyday, regular strength and cardio, and then three days a week of Jedi school on top of that which, at the beginning was a little intimidating

because I come in.  We’re doing lightsaber work and, of course, he’s being doing this for years.  So he’s like, flipping it and wielding it and I’m like, oh, God, I’m never going to get it.  I look terrible.  But, you know, if at first you don’t succeed, try and try again.”

Obi Wan himself, Ewan McGregor added that this intense training was ideal because it allowed for him to bond with his cast mates.

We started like really, like, months before the shoot together in the fight gym.  And it was great.  It was a nice way to get to know each other.

We won’t give any spoilers so you’ll need to catch the new series on Disney+ and let us know what you think!

The first two episodes of the new series will air on Friday, May 27 on Disney+. There are six episodes in total, with each episode dropped weekly on Friday after the two-part premiere on May 27. This means the finale for Obi-Wan Kenobi should air on Disney+ on June 24.
