Lana Del Rey Announces New Album ‘Lust For Life’ With Twilight Zone-Esque Trailer

It’s safe to say Rod Serling is shook. A little over a year and a half after releasing her last studio album, Honeymoon, Lana Del Rey has announced the title of her newest record, Lust For Life, courtesy of a very Twilight Zone-esque trailer released Wednesday morning.

In the video, the “Summertime Sadness” singer is seen living in the Hollywood sign, “perched high above the chaos that swirls in the City of Angels below.” Via a voiceover that sounds like the Watergate tapes, the songstress goes on to say, “Even though these times can feel a little bit crazy, there not so very different from what other generations have experienced at one time or another before. Amidst all the uncertainty, and as we transition out of one era into another one, there’s no place I’d rather be than smack dab in the middle of Hollyweird making this record for you. Because you, and the music, and this place, are my love, my light, my Lust For Life.” If there’s one thing Lana can do it’s a monologue.

While there isn’t a set a release date as of yet, (only a “Coming Soon” at the end), I’d guess an early summer release is what she’s shooting for, similar to her third (and best) album, Ultraviolence. Nothing like a good Lana Del Rey summer record!

She released the first single from the forthcoming album, “Love” last month a little earlier than she wanted to due to leaks.
