Jillian Shea Spaeder on Disney+ “Godmothered” Leading Role with Isla Fisher & Jillian Bell

There’s a lot that we love about “Godmothered,” a new Disney film that was originally billed as a warm-hearted holiday story.

However, it’s clear that it’s also one of those magical movies that can be enjoyed anytime, and a big part of it is due to the talented cast. Though Jillian Bell and Isla Fisher have the lead roles, the production is stronger due to the rest of the talented cast, including break-out star Jillian Shea Spaeder.

She not only plays Isla Fisher’s oldest daughter but contributes her singing voice and musical abilities to make “Godmothered” even more enjoyable.

The accomplished singer/actress previously known for “Walk the Prank” recently shared her experiences with music, acting, and more. Look for more good things to come from Jillian Shea Spaeder!

What did you like about working on “Godfathered”? I feel like every moment was valuable! Most of my scenes were with Jillian, Isla, Mary (Elizabeth Ellis,) and Willa (Skye), who all played my family members. We all became really close during filming and have stayed in touch. I consider them all family!

That must have been fun to not only act but play guitar too. What was that like? Another valuable moment was the big concert scene. I was able to sing “Rise Up” with my guitar, a choir behind me, and a big crowd in front of me. That was a really special experience.

Did you learn a lot from your co-stars? I had the opportunity to watch Jillian work and she gave me a lot of advice. She’s one of the sweetest people on the planet, super funny and so talented. She made being on the set fun.

Did the COVID pandemic affect anything? We had to shut down with four days left, which is the reason the ending is animated. Music helped me get through it all – it gave me something to work on while acting was on hold.

What’s next for you? I’m putting out my first album, hopefully soon! It will have three or four new songs plus already released singles. I plan on directing and producing videos of these songs too.
