Jena Rose Opens at Wango Tango: Don’t Sleep On This Up-And-Coming Artist

iHeartRadio and KIIS FM’s annual summer festival, “Wango Tango,” just took place June 4th in Carson, California. Hosted each year by Ryan Seacrest, Wango Tango has featured many prominent artists in the music industry such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Calvin Harris, and Ed Sheeran. This year, artists such as Shawn Mendes, Tate McCrae, GAYLE, 5 Seconds of Summer and Camila Cabello took the stage with a special performance by Diplo. Jena Rose opened the festival this year, kicking things off at the Village Stage as the first artist to perform at Wango Tango.

Jena Rose is a 21-year-old Cuban American artist who hails from Dallas, Texas. Her presence in the music world as an independent pop artist has been steadily building over the past couple years, and she has gained more fans with each release. Her single “Forever Yours” features Latin rapper Casper Mágico and has over 2 million plays on Spotify. Additionally, her most recent release, ‘Checkmate’ has gained over 8.5 million plays on Spotify as well.

‘Checkmate’ was released in June of 2021. A catchy pop tune featuring Rose’s powerful vocals and carrying a message of strength and moving on, ‘Checkmate’ has attracted much attention from music lovers alike across a multitude of different platforms, from TikTok, to Spotify, and to YouTube.

The coinciding music video for ‘Checkmate’ features Rose dancing skillfully in stunning outfits amongst playful yet striking visuals. The video has amassed over 9 million views on YouTube since its release in 2021. Additionally, having gone viral multiple times with millions of views, Jena Rose’s TikTok account has over 700k followers. ‘Checkmate’ also went viral as an audio on the platform, with more than 33k videos created with the song and over 320 million plays.

Rose has also reached the Top 40 list of 45 different radio stations in America and has been featured on popular platforms such as MTV and Most Requested Live.
