Hitmaker Justin Quiles Takes Reggaeton’s Center Stage
The name behind many Latin hits is front and center in 2020. Justin Quiles; with melodic treatments and his clever word play, he is exactly where he needs to be. From behind to the scenes songwriter to established act, Justin Quiles was and still is one of the main go-to’s for some of Latin’s biggest acts.
Since penning his first song at the young age of 12, songwriting has been a natural gift for him. His consistency and determination proved worthy when the opportunity came about to work with producer Lelo, known for his work with reggaeton legends Jowell & Randy and Wisin & Yandel. His first single “Algo Contigo”, launched his music career and led him to the place he now calls home, Rich Music.
Rich Music LTD signed Quiles in 2013. Small yet mighty, they do not have a large roster but they certainly have a consistent one. They also have a grind like no other, which has explained their rapid growth. Quiles along with their other talent have continually put in their best efforts with even better returns. Together with their artists, they have multiple nominations Latin Billboard Awards, Latin American Music awards and the Latin Grammy’s.
A pay off in 2017, granted Justin an even larger platform with a record deal at Warner Music Latina. Merely a year after he had dropped his debut album, La Promesa. Justin referenced past collaborations with Yandel and J Balvin as major influences to his work ethic, noting their admiration and hustle. Although he’s adapted a day off or two for creative purposes, his eye is on the prize.
Justin loves the creative process, recognizing it as one of his favorite things if not the favorite thing to do. Creating melodies and rhythms are an exciting moment to him. Stating his artistry as “God’s gift to him”, has allowed the songwriter to live off his passion. The secret ingredient and main inspiration to keep his engine going is: life. Justin didn’t burst into the scene overnight; he earned it and is determined to stay in the top of his game. Believing in writing off his personal experiences and emotions explains the constant growth year by year in his career. At a time when artists are quickly forgotten after a few streams, Justin is on the upside and continues to build a larger momentum with every release. Even in his down time the hustle never stops. While on vacation in Puerto Rico, he says there’s so much to absorb from his hometown. Citing the island itself as a source of inspiration as well as goldmine of musical talent. Enjoying the journey is as equally rewarding as the goal for Justin.
His most recent single, Jeans has already picked up heat virally and is bound to be a certified hit. Replaying it feels like a treat every time thanks to the record’s catchiness and sexy smooth delivery on the beat. Collaborating with director, Fernando Lugo (who shot his first video) and together they raised the bar, taking “Jeans”, to a whole new level.
Jeans is also one of his favorite tracks, which luckily for us, is part of an upcoming new album. It will feature Daddy Yankee, El Alfa from previously released singles additional to Rauw Alejandro, Lenny Tavarez and Maluma. As with all his work, Justin said “every song is going to be a smash” and is set to be released late this year/early next year.
Not only is he about his craft, he is also known for his humanitarian work. In 2018, he received an award as “Humanitarian Ambassador”, at the Paoli Awards. Sharing his mom’s history with domestic violence, it is in his brand is to continue to bring awareness to the issue. He campaigns with the National Coalition Against Domestic Violenceand contributed resources and gifts to former victims. From a genuine and grateful heart, Justin’s uses his platform to help and give back to his community.
In a few minutes, it is easy to see why he is strikingly different. A unique approach to songwriting sets him & his work apart from the pack. He is not one to follow trends but rather lead his own. Focused on his craft, career and innovating, all the overtime he has put is taking off. The sky is the limit for Justin Quiles.
