Facebook, Netflix Offer Gender Reassignment as Employee Benefit

Employee benefits have just broadened their horizons. Companies in Silicon Valley such as Facebook and Netflix are now offering their employees gender reassignment surgery as a benefit.

A current survey suggests that 415 companies, out of 780 firms polled, now offer the procedures. Included in this healthcare resolve are treatments including surgeries and hormone therapy. Offering these new outlets are an opportunity for these companies to encourage their commitment to a diverse workplace.

The Human Rights Campaign has stated that the number of companies offering the procedures has doubled since 2012. In 2009, only 49 companies offered such medical proposals. With this new medical assistance, between 10,000 and 20,000 people have been aided in their journey through gender reassignment surgery.

Congratulations to these companies for their excellent ascension towards an equal and diverse workplace!
