Arika Sato On Manifesting Her Own Reality

When the terms “health and wellness influencer,” “YouTuber,” and “Instagram Model” pop up, the outcome is usually controversial. Most people’s first question is, “How can you make a career out of that?” Arika Sato is moving mountains and swimming gracefully through the alternate end of social media work.

Aiding others in their fight to get healthy, Arika posts YouTube video tutorials on various things including, workouts, yoga, and healthy vegan eating.

Speaking on her photoshoot for SKIMS (Yes, you read that right, that’s Kim Kardashian’s, Shapewear Line!) Arika says this was “a dream come true.” We can definitely add modeling sexy Kim K. Shapewear to our dreamer’s list! Arika says the shoot was “very artistic and totally different from my regular shoots that I do in my home or on the street.” Arika looks absolutely stunning in anything, but this shapewear line seems like a match made in heaven for Sato! Sato calls the brand her “favorite” and says the same of Kim K. She “loves the brand” and “wears it all the time.” Sato speaks very highly of Kim K’s team of experts, calling them “very professional” and “talented.”

Manifestation. What comes to mind when you hear that word? When it comes to Arika, that word means beautiful bounties. When asked to talk about her experiences with manifestation, Sato replies, “Yes! I am a spiritual girl! I practice yoga every single day, and I meditate. I do have dreams and goals and things. I like to tie happiness with my dreams and goals. I really just try to make things happen and work towards it.” Sato also delves into talk of the future and how she will accept whatever comes her way. She says that “being kind to others” is an excellent step to take in progressing for the unknown.

When asked what advice Sato would give to aspiring models, influencers, and YouTubers, she says, “it’s very open these days. Any person of any skin tone, any size, or any kind of certain different look” can be accepted and work well into the industry. She says back when she first started, it was very “categorized,” and people were very “type cast” towards certain jobs because of “how you look.” She encourages anyone seeking to pop into the business to “try it, totally try it! Just be you, be genuine, and be kind!”

Now that we know how to get into the business, what are some of Arika’s tips and tricks for preparing for photoshoots and videos? How does one obtain that fresh and natural glow she exotifies so well? “So, today I am shooting for Contrast Magazine! I get ready pretty early because it takes me a really long time!” We know the struggle Arika, some of us here at Contrast, aren’t human until we’ve had our first cup of Joe! She says, “Give yourself ample drive time!” The city of L.A. boasts some pretty heavy traffic, but it’s also huge and a very spread out city as well, so ample drive time is a fantastic first tip! Ever the health guru, Sato also includes having a healthy breakfast before heading out for the day. “You don’t wanna be starving on set!”

What can we expect from you soon, Arika? Laughing, she says, “I don’t have shit going on.” Oh, Arika, what an entertaining interviewee you are! We love the casual, kidder sitting in front of us! All jokes aside, even with the quarantine and social distancing, Arika has an abundance of things in the works! She is developing her own line for 2021, stating that it’s “a little bit sexy, a little bit fun, and a little bit to do with health and wellness.” She’s also a part-owner of a yoga studio (she encourages you to come out and visit her to get your mind right and your health and wellness where it should be!) To promote her Yoga journey even further, Arika is training to be a licensed Yoga Instructor! How cool is that? We’re rooting for you, Arika!
